Humphrey Khoza (Chief Executive Officer)
Experience
Humphrey Khoza previously served as Chief Executive of Uthingo, the licensed operator of the National Lottery in South Africa. Humphrey was Uthingo’s first CEO who steered the organisation through the bidding process, its launch in 2000 to its current operational levels. As Chief Executive he was responsible for overall company operations including ensuring compliance with license obligations, the management of the company in the best interest of all stakeholders in the lottery and the implementation of the company’s business plan. It was during his tenure that Uthingo was awarded the right to host the World Lottery Association convention in South Africa (2004) and he was a member of the steering committee of the African Association of State Lotteries. Humphrey previously served as a Director of Communications and Human Resources for Nestle South Africa and as Director of Corporate Services for Shell South Africa. He currently serves on the boards of Primedia, Relyant and Nestlé South Africa.

Viccy Baker (General Manager: Marketing & Sales)
Experience
Viccy has for the past eight years been responsible for managing the largest and most successful marketing and public relations consultancy in South Africa, with turnover in excess of R70 million per annum and a staff complement of ninety people. Viccy was the account director in charge of the GTech account assisting GTech in the political lobbying and media education necessary to create the right environment for winning the lottery bid in South Africa. Viccy and her team then worked with Tattersall’s, the Australian lottery operator and Camelot, the British lottery operator, all of whom were partners in the bid, to put together the media and marketing plan. This involved an in-depth understanding of how lotteries operate and are managed as it was critical to the South African bid to document and manage the integration of the whole operation. Viccy was a trusted strategic advisor for the CEO of the SA lottery throughout his term of office and was responsible for writing the bid which saw Uthingo succeed in winning the 2004 WLA Convention – the first to be held on African soil.

Dominic Dempers (General Manager: Business Development)
Experience
Dominic is a marketing specialist, with 7 years consulting experience at South Africa’s leading marketing communications consultancy where he was a member of the executive committee, head of the design studio and a key account manager. Dominic was part of the team that worked on the South African National Lottery account from inception. He has an intimate knowledge of all aspects of the South African National Lottery, with particular emphasis on implementing marketing plans for added-value products, such as merchandising, scratch cards, retailer outreach and motivation. He was directly responsible for the launch and roll-out of the South African National Lottery’s Scratch Cards. The launch of scratch cards, conducted predominantly through commuter promotions, proved to be a highly successful marketing campaign for the National Lottery, reaching over seven million commuters in all nine South African provinces on a daily basis for two weeks.

Ayo Oyewole (General Manager: Operations)
Experience
Ayo is an Information Systems specialist with twelve years experience in the analysis, design, development and implementation of IS-enabled business solutions. As National IS Manager for DHL Nigeria for the past 8 years, Ayo has gained extensive experience in managing a heterogeneous multi-site IS environment, with technical skills cutting across IS support, data & telecommunications, hardware and software. He has a sound understanding of IS development cycles, methodology and project management. At DHL, Ayo was directly responsible for the formulation and implementation of the corporate IS strategy, the management of IS resources as well as the management of support services to over 550 users spread across Nigeria.

Peter-Demian Ezemegwalu (General Manager: Security)
Experience
Peter-Demian did his professional training with Obiora Uba and Co, a firm of Chartered Accountants in Lagos. In 1988, he left the firm for United Bank For Africa Plc where he served in various capacities in the Operations and the Internal Audit Divisions. He stood out as the best investigator in the Internal Audit Division. Peter-Demian joined Fortune Bank International Plc in 1999 as the pioneer Head, Internal Control Department, where he set up the Internal Control systems. Later the same year, he left Fortune Bank for Oceanic Bank International Plc where he was a key member of the team that set up the Internal Control and Compliance Department of the bank. In 2000 he was appointed as Chief Inspector. His tenure as Chief Inspector witnessed the setting up of the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) audit unit and the introduction of audit and investigation approaches that saved the bank up to 50% of the resources required to perform both functions. From 2003 to 2004 Peter-Demian served as Head Internal Control Department. Peter-Demian is a regular facilitator on Audit , Investigation and Fraud related workshops for three notable professional institutions namely the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Financial Institutions Training Centre.

Obaro has 6 years experience with Oceanic Bank International, having held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at the Bank for the past four years. He was directly responsible for coordinating the Bank’s marketing activities and ensuring that set targets were met by branches and departments across the group.
